Wedding Details. What to include?

Bridal details is the first thing to be photographed on a wedding day by most of wedding photographers including myself. Groom’s details come somewhere near the very beginning as well. These are the incredibly important items that my Brides and Grooms picked for themselves, some of them are more significant than others like something borrowed and something old or the gifts to each other. But all of them need to be captured!

When my couples choose to work with a wedding planner or coordinator, I usually receive all the important details right when I get to the Bridal suite, but if you chose to plan the wedding by yourself, all the beautiful things picked out with so much care and attention still need to be captured. Creating flat-lays and photographing stunning shoes, rings or your grandma’s comb is one of my favorite parts of the day. So I thought I would share a list of traditional items to prepare before your wedding photographer gets there.

Bride:

  • Invitation suite

  • All three rings

  • Wedding gown

  • Veil

  • Wedding day shoes

  • Earrings

  • Other jewelry you are wearing

  • Wedding day perfume

  • Vows

  • Garter

  • Bridal bouquet

  • Hair accessories

  • Dress hanger

  • Wax seal

  • Clutch

I always really appreciate having some of the flowers used in the bridal bouquet or wedding decorations: it keeps your wedding the images consistent and shows the style and theme you picked throughout the day. You can also add some styling items if you want any to be used: trays, fabrics, ring boxes, ribbons or anything else you want to be photographed.

Groom:

  • Shoes

  • Cufflinks

  • Wedding day cologne

  • Boutonnière

  • Suspenders

  • Watch

  • Socks

  • Sunglasses

  • Tie/bowtie

  • Tie clip

  • Belt

  • Pocket square

  • Flask

  • Hat

And also whatever is important for your Wedding day outfit or you. It maybe a bottle of your favorite whiskey, cigar, basketball shoes you are going to wear for the reception or a funny gift from your groomsmen.

When I discuss the wedding day timeline with my couples, I certainly talk about how important it is to get these items together. The images will forever remind you of all the little details of your Big Day as well as make great spreads for your wedding album.

I can't wait to see all of your details and style them to match the choices you made while planning your Wedding Day!
